Practices
Built for FERPA and COPPA
LEF Ed is designed to operate under the school official exception: schools authorize processing for legitimate educational purposes, and the documents below govern it. We describe our practices and publish the governing documents rather than claiming a third-party certification that does not exist for these laws.
Encryption
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest with 256-bit AES through our infrastructure providers (Google Cloud and Turso, both encrypting storage by default).
Trial data deletes itself
Public trial uploads expire after 14 days and are deleted automatically by a scheduled job, students, scores, and derived rows alike. What the engine keeps is only its de-identified structural learnings: pattern shapes and calibration results, never student records.
Students are pseudonymous to the engine
The engine works on anonymized sovereign identifiers. Names never leave the school boundary in any engine record, and small groups are suppressed (fewer than 5 students) rather than reported.
One population, one library
Your patterns derive from your students only. No other school or district’s data shapes your classifications, and yours shape no one else’s.
